Quem nos acompanha de longa data, sabe que nossa missão sempre foi dar visibilidade para artistas que nem sempre estão no mainstream. Essa é a nossa essência, por isso, com muita alegria, fomos convidados pela plataforma francesa Groover (@groover.music / @groover.br) para apoiar pequenos artistas espalhados pelo mundo. A proposta é dar mais reconhecimento a quem produz de forma independente.
Na prática, funciona assim: bandas e artistas mandam seus trabalhos pra gente e damos nossa opinião tanto pela proposta, quanto pela técnica.
Chegando ao final de 2021, resolvemos listar os destaques internacionais que foram enviados para nossa avaliação. A seguir, vocês conhecerão um breve resumo em inglês ou francês (somos chiques!) e seus principais canais nas redes sociais. Ah, os estilos são os mais variados! Aproveitem!
Bantunani – So Many Years
“So Many Years” doesn’t have an innovative sound, but the inclusion of rap in the song adds an even greater power to the lyrics already loaded with social criticism. Although technically simple, the message demonstrates the experience and maturity of Bantunani’s trajectory.
Thomas Bélair-Ferland – EIRAM
Music for peaceful days! So is EIRAM, a track by the talented Thomas Bélair-Ferland. With a strong voice and a well-executed folk, he has everything to gain more and more visibility. We hope to hear more news because it will be successful!
Zkeletonz – Porsche To Berlin
That’s it! Zkeletonz is like a fusion of Daft Punk and Bee Gees, also remembering a little bit of Family Force 5! Their sound is a very well-produced synth-pop and brings a night feeling, being a great and fun option coming from the UK for those who want to relax and enjoy the moment.
Miloviti – Say The Word
“Say the Word” is a full plate for alternative rock addicts. With engaging vocals, the band bets on simplicity and delivers a high-level track, worthy to be on your playlist and to be heard every day. Miloviti has everything for a promising future!
Dibiblack – Trop Tard
Trop tard mélange des éléments déjà établis de la musique du monde. Flirtant avec la pop, la musique noire et le jazz suave, Dibiblack nous présente une chanson cohérente qui apporte une atmosphère agréable qui gagnera sûrement les auditeurs à la première occasion. Malgré la qualité remarquable de la production, il est visible qu’il reste encore un long chemin à parcourir par l’artiste qui doit chercher au plus tôt à obtenir sa propre identité musicale pour pouvoir s’imposer et ne pas se confondre dans ce large, marché de la musique diversifié et compétitif. Nous espérons avoir bientôt de bonnes nouvelles de Dibiblack.
Sophie Keye – Guard my life
If the book of Psalms is like prayer, Sophie Keye’s Guard My Life follows the same idea. With soft singing, you can feel the emotion conveyed by the intimate composition about faith and mental health. The highlight for the music video with a beautiful interpretation in sign languages with Deanna Scott.
Liso Cassano – Go Down On Me
“Go Down On Me” could easily be chosen as the soundtrack to one of those movie scenes where a couple in love realizes that everything they need for the rest of their lives is already there. Melancholy and somewhat somber, the melody is engaging and inviting, you’ll want to listen to the end to find out where those unassuming strumming will take you. The vocal duet at the end between Liso Cassano and Seb Charpentier will leave you with the feeling of mission accomplished for this song. Liso’s vocal timbre is charming, we hope to check out news about her very soon!
Eric B Turner – Ain’t no Good
Powerful! The first few seconds are enough to make sure you are listening to something precious. Even without innovating, “Aint No Good” brings high-quality blues that is further enhanced by the remarkable voice of Eric B Turner. Play and imagine what his live performance should be like!
Walybear – Fly Away
Fly Away brings in its introduction a good groove but with poorly defined string arrangements, you can feel that it didn’t fit perfectly. However, despite the lack of chemistry on guitars and bass at the beginning of the track, Walybear’s vocal timbre makes up for it, the voice is catchy and holds you until the end of the song. We believe that more attention will be needed in future productions regarding the instrumental sessions, as we have plenty of potentials to compose and sing. Frank Blueka – Holy Mama
‘Holy Mama’ is a blues of excellent taste. Refined, delicate and deep. The intimate rhythm of the track holds you until the last second, interspersing intimate vocals and good guitar licks, it’s a perfect recipe for anyone looking for inspiration and good references. No doubt it will be on one of our playlists as an indication to our followers in the coming days.
Magic Sugar Coffee – Blkout
It is not an easy task to run a band in the middle of 2021 with a sound proposal that is no longer in vogue these days. For many, pop-punk can sound cliché (even we don’t agree), so it is necessary that somehow there is a big difference so that the band does not become just another name among thousands. The song Blkout is great brings some good memories to mind and makes clear the references of bands like Relient K, Blink 182, MxPx, and Fall Out Boy. The Chorus is remarkable as every pop-punk chorus needs to be. The vocals are great, great work on the backing vocals. When I finished the track, I got the feeling that I wanted to hear the entire album, I hope you have success in your career and we want to hear more from you, we will share it on our playlists and social networks soon.
Harley – Mashup Prophetic
It’s always great to receive songs from christian artists through Groover plataform, and even better when we receive talented artists like you. We are a Brazilian platform for the dissemination of independent christian music (mostly), we will be delighted to promote your work to our followers. Your music is very tasteful, the quality of the production clashes with many that we normally receive for evaluation on Groover. The vocal timbre is excellent, pleasant and powerful. We really liked the mix you made music with modern elements and classical melodies of African music, reminiscent of classic songs from christian hymnals. Great job, we’d like to know when you release a full album so we can share it on our website. We will certainly put ‘Mashup Prophetic’ in our playlists.
